4 Day Garden Route Adventure

Tour Price – 4 Day Garden Route Adventure

Tour Includes: Qualified guide, air-conditioned bus, 3 nights accommodation, Dinners, breakfasts and entrance fees to: Ostrich farm, Cango Caves, River canoeing in Wilderness, Game viewing safari and Tsitsikamma National Park.

We also have plenty of time for these optional activities:

Day1 – Cape Town/Stellenbosch – Garden Route Game Lodge – Mossel Bay

We leave Cape Town/ Stellenbosch early on Friday morning for the Garden Route Game Lodge in Albertinia for a Game Drive to view Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, Giraffe and many other antelope species like Springbok , Eland, Zebra, Wildebeest, Kudu and Impala.
After the Game Drive you will have a Buffet Dinner at the Serengeti restaurant at the Garden Route Game Lodge.

Overnight: Parkhouse Lodge Backpackers in Mossel Bay

Day 2 - Mossel Bay – Knysna – Tsitsikamma – Plettenberg Bay

After breakfast we leave for the Tsitsikamma National Park. En route we drive through the beautiful lake district of the Garden Route and stop off at the Bloukrans Bridge to view the world’s highest bungy jump bridge (216 metres). We allow plenty of time for the adventure seekers amongst us to test their courage. We spend the afternoon in the National Park with its unique combination of indigenous forest and the beautiful Indian Ocean. This provides a wide choice of activities for all, including long and short hikes, crossing the suspension bridge and swimming.

Overnight: Plettenberg Bay

Day 3 Plettenberg Bay - Wilderness

The morning you will have for your self. You can go to Plettenberg Bay beach and/or explore the town.
Other things to do: -
• Whale and dolphin watching Safari (seasonal)
• Knysna Elephant Park

On the way to Wilderness we will stop in Knysna where you can see the famous Knysna Heads and lagoon and have the opportunity to explore the waterfront and countless shops. We then move on to Wilderness for some River Canoeing in Wilderness National Park.

Optional Activities: Whale and Dolphin watching Safari (seasonal)
1 Hour Guided Tour of Knysna elephant Sanctuary
Overnight: Wilderness

Day 4 Wilderness – Oudtshoorn – Route 62 – Cape Town

This morning we drive over the spectacular Outeniqua Mountain Pass to Oudtshoorn to experience the subterranean beauty of the Cango Caves on a guided adventure tour. Then we continue on to Cango Ostrich show farm for a guided tour of an ostrich farm. The more adventurous can even ride an ostrich. (maximum weight of 75 kg) 
After lunch we head back to Cape Town/Stellenbosch via the scenic Route 62 drive.

Entrance to guided tour of Ostrich Farm.

Departures

These tours will depart from Cape Town and Stellenbosch any day of the week with groups of 5 and more.

Booking Procedure

Should you wish to make a reservation, please let me know so that I can secure the seats for you. Please complete attached booking form and return it to us by email. We require a 50% deposit to secure the reservation, with the balance due 30 days before departure. You can pay by credit card (5% credit card charge) or bank transfer.

Pick Up

Guest will be picked up between 07:00 and 09:00 from accommodation establishments in Cape Town and about 09:30 in Stellenbosch. If guests do not live in Cape Town or Stellenbosch additional transport has to be arranged into the city, or guests will be picked up along the way.

Itinerary

The company reserves the right to change itinerary, accommodation, and transport along the way should circumstances dictate. Unfortunately many of these outdoor activities are weather dependant which could force changes in the itinerary. The guide will try his best to arrange events according to prevailing weather conditions.

Vehicles

The vehicles that we will be touring in is a fully air conditioned and can comfortably seat 8 adults including driver/guide or 14 Adult including Driver/guide. We also have a CD and Mp3 player in the bus. (Welcome to bring your own music, if it is not too terrible we can play it)

All vehicles have valid Operating Licences to convey paying customers.

Guides:

All guides are well trained, experienced and African born and bred. By law we are enforced to use THETA registered and Qualified guides with special PDP drivers licences. (Professional Drivers Licence). Earthstompers make use of only the best guides that wil make sure you get  a laid back,  funny, relaxing, informative and safe trip.

Accommodation

All the accommodation en route has been selected over many years for its cleanliness, unique setting, closeness to nature and great atmosphere whilst not forgetting the human need for home comforts.

Accommodation at the backpackers takes the form of dormitory rooms with shared bathroom facilities.

Upgrades to single and double Backpacker rooms with shared Bathroom facilities and Upgrades to Backpacker rooms with en-suite bathrooms are available.

Guest House upgrades to Single, Double or twin en-suite rooms are available at an additional cost.

All bedding and towels will be provided.

Meals

All meals have been selected by management and include traditional South African meals. Breakfast would normally be a combination of healthy continental breakfast with fruits, cereals, yoghurt and toast or cooked breakfasts. Please advise us of any special dietary requirements in advance.

Dinner vouchers can also be issued to clients to have dinner at a restaurant of choice!

Lunch and drinks would be for Guests own account.

Payment

A deposit of 50% is payable to agent or into bank account on confirmation of booking. Balance is payable 30 days before departure. Credit card payments will incur a 5% banking charge.

Cancellation Policy

The following cancellation fees will apply should you wish to cancel your tour. Please note we will charge a cash handling fee of 15% if you should cancel more than 30 days before departure to cover our bank charges.

30 days – 15 days 25 % of the total of the booking
14 days – 8 days 50 % of the total of the booking
7 days or less 100 % of the total of the booking
No-show 100 % of the total of the booking

Insurance

It is strongly recommended that you hold comprehensive travel insurance to safeguard you against possible unforeseen emergency. Earthstompers has comprehensive passenger and public liability insurance.

Exclusion of liability

Earthstompers, or its employees and agents shall not be responsible for and shall be exempt from any liability in respect of loss, damage, injury, accident, delay or inconvenience to any person or their luggage or other personal property under any circumstances whatsoever whilst on tour.

What do you need?

A love for nature, an adventurous spirit and an earthstomping sense of humor. Of course it would not be a bad thing to bring along a rain jacket, camera, swimming clothes, sun screen, towel, hat, warm jacket and personal toiletries.

Optional Activities:

The Optional Activities are not included in your tour price because this is activities that not everybody will be able to do. For example: Not everybody would like to jump of a 216 m bridge or jump from a plane at 10 000 feet. These activities can be paid in Cash or credit card direct to the Adventure Operator. These activities will be booked by your guide the day that the tour departs. All included activities are not physically demanding and can be enjoyed by all ages, shapes and sizes on tour.

Malaria

Our tours take place in a malaria free area. No anti-malaria precautions are therefore necessary. You are however advised to bring insect repellent during summer.

Tours depart every Monday from Cape Town and Stellenbosch. Tours can depart every day of the week for Private or custom tours.

• Tours can also depart from anywhere in the Western Cape for Private and custom Tours.
• We need a minimum of 3 people to depart on the 6 Day Garden Route and Addo Adventure.
