Earthstompers / Cape Food & Wine – Staff Party 2018/19

Home / News / Earthstompers / Cape Food & Wine – Staff Party 2018/19

We aim to get our entire team together, at least twice a year. Sunday was our “year end” party (which we do in January, as December is way too crazy!).

We take the opportunity to reflect on the past year, discuss business and trends going forward and also just to celebrate our team and achievements.

Awards Ceremony:

Steph Harris – Long Service Award (5 years+)

Nicolene Vermeulen – Service Excellence Award

Christine van Deventer – Tour guide of the Year (2018)

Pieter Wolhuter – Most Tours for 2018 (kilometres driven – 1.5 times around the globe!!)

Cindy Schalkwyk – Service Excellence Award

Our ultimate favorite place to be together is at Hendrik & Chrissy’s house in Somerset West. We love it because it’s home. We can be ourselves (this can get pretty loud), we can braai, we have the most welcoming hosts in the world and in summer, it’s the perfect place for a pool party!

This celebration was definitely one for the books! Hendrik & Chrissy had a surprise up their sleeves… we had famous local chef, Matt Manning, in the house! Chef Matt and his team took over the kitchen & braai and spoiled us! While we were swimming, we were served Parmesan Arancini, tempura broccoli and bottomless gin & tonic, to start off with!

We then sat down for a harvest table style feast of tropical salads, Yellow tail, Hake and Roasted Lamb accompanied by fine wine carefully selected by the boss himself.

This was the perfect day, spent with an incredibly special team. Thank you Hendrik & Chrissy! We can barely wait for the next one!

I made a short video, focusing on the food and Awards ceremony.
