We’re incredibly honored to receive this award and the good news blows new wind in our sails which is much needed at this time!
Earthstompers is a small family business, run by husband and wife team Hendrik & Chrissy Human. Hendrik was born and raised in Mossel Bay, and started Earthstompers nearly 15 years ago to show off the beautiful part of the world he grew up in. Chrissy came to South Africa from her home in America in 2012, caught safari fever, and never returned to America!
Comment from Earthstompers owner Hendrik Human:
More than anything, our team’s objective is to provide a genuine & safe South African experience that connects visitors to our adventurous and outdoors lifestyle in vast natural spaces.
Comment from Earthstompers owner Chrissy Human:
“We’re so proud of our team and all our suppliers, thank you for your hard work and dedication! Some great news during these testing times. It’s been an eventful and exciting last 12 months, winning South African Tourism’s Lilizela National Tour Operator of the Year 2019
; our 6 Day tour winning TourRadar’s South African tour of the year
; and now probably the biggest one yet – our 6 Day tour is one of the top 10 multi day tours in the world, in TripAdvisor Travellers Choice Awards! It is the only South African product on this list. Well done team! I would have never thought when I designed this tour 15 years ago that it would go on to become one of the “Best Things to do in the World” and one of the top 10 multi day tours worldwide! I’m very proud and know it would have not been possible without the best team out there. We can’t wait for the borders to open to continue our tours!”
“Since I first came to South Africa 8 years ago, I have been continuously blown away by the beauty of South Africa. Although this has been an incredibly tough year to be in the tourism industry, I’m confident that people will travel again. This award goes to show that the Garden Route, and South Africa, never has to stand back when competing against the best in the world.
This tour in particular goes from Cape Town through to Addo Elephant Park in the Eastern Cape. Along the way, this tour supports hundreds of jobs, from travel agents, airline staff, tour guides, petrol attendants, accommodation workers, housekeepers, National Park rangers, and restaurant staff. This is what makes me most proud, and most eager to get the tourism industry running again. International travelers going on this tour supports hundreds of jobs in South Africa.”
The tour offers a group experience for travelers of any age, young and old. The package combines nature, popular tourist routes & sites, National Parks which varies from shipwrecked coasts, to hiking in Garden Route forests to Big 5 safari and we end off every day at a handpicked owner-run accommodation establishments where guests can interact with the locals around a fire and enjoy a traditional South African meal. The tour includes some adventure aspects like canoeing and hiking and offers additional adrenaline options for those keen to jump out of a plane or off a bridge.
