Kruger National Park Safari
Many of our guests want to add more time on safari while traveling to South Africa. A great place for Safari is the beautiful Kruger National Park. There are hundreds of private game reserves in the Kruger National Park area, which offer the opportunities to see South Africa’s famous wildlife, such as lions, leopard, giraffe, African buffalo, rhino or hippo and many more.
Our recommended lodges are as follows:
Situated in the Southwestern part of Kruger National Park where the Mitomeni and Biyamiti rivers meet. Jock Safari Camp has two exclusive lodges with excellent big 5 game viewing in a private 6000 hectare concession of Kruger National Park. I big advantage of these lodges are they are one of the few which are located within Kruger National Park, rather than on the outskirts.
This private game reserve is on the border with Kruger National Park, with no fences in between, so game is able to roam freely between Kruger and this Reserve. At Lion Sands it is safari in style with 6 different lodges all on the banks of the Sabi River.
How to get there:
Daily scheduled flights are available to this area from Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. The closest airports to these lodges are Skukuza Airport (within Kruger National Park), Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport in Nelspruit and OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. We can arrange private transfers to any of these lodges from any of these airports. See travel times below:
