2018 was a great year for Earthstompers Adventures’ Travel.
We attend local and international travel shows, to stay on top of the latest travel trends in order to carry on providing the best possible service to our guests.
We exhibited at WTM Africa 2018 (World Travel Market), Cape Town, and also at INDABA 2018, Durban. These shows provide opportunity to make new local business connections, as well as maintain existing relationships with agents and suppliers.
We also attended the SAYTC (South African Youth Travel Confederation) Conference in the Cederberg in September, focusing on the youth & adventure travel in South Africa.
We were lucky to attend two international shows last year! I represented Earthstompers Adventures & Cape Food & Wine at WYSTC (World Youth & Student Travel Conference) in Edinburgh, Scotland. I took the opportunity to also visit some of our agents in London, UK. Chrissy & Hendrik traveled all the way to Tuscany, Italy for the Adventure Travel World Summit. They also did a 6 Day Walking Foodie Tour before the conference, to get some inspiration for our Foodie Tours around the Cape.
As travel professionals, it is essential to our growth to travel to other countries to learn about trends in the industry and also to be a traveler! We meet like-minded people in the travel industry and get to discuss challenges, trends and the latest in travelers’ needs. The shows provide workshops & speakers that teach us valuable skills and provide information about research done on our target market. As a responsible tour operator, we take global travel topics seriously and ensure that our guests are aware of how they can travel responsibly while in South Africa.
We’ve learned a lot over the last year and aim to implement our knowledge in our business over the course of 2019.
This year we will again attend WTM Africa & INDABA and we hope to also attend WYSTC in Lisbon, Portugal!
